Melissa B. Rossman
Melissa B. Rossman is an associate attorney at Alter, Wolff & Foley LLP. Melissa focuses her practice in all aspects of matrimonial law, from litigation and motion practice before New York trial and appellate courts to drafting and negotiating prenuptial agreements. Melissa counsels clients on various divorce and family law matters, including the negotiation and litigation of custody issues, child support, visitation, relocation, equitable distribution, complex financial matters, spousal maintenance, post-judgment issues such as enforcement and modification proceedings, and all other financial issues related to dissolution proceedings.
Prior to joining AWF, Melissa was an associate in the Matrimonial and Family Law practice group at Kasowitz, Benson, Torres & Friedman LLP. Prior to that, Melissa worked as an associate attorney at a civil litigation firm that focused on insurance defense, general tort litigation, commercial litigation, workers’ compensation, and real estate matters.
Melissa graduated from the University of Miami School of Law, magna cum laude, in 2012. During law school, she worked as a certified legal intern at the Children & Youth Law Clinic, where she represented foster youth and co-authored an amicus brief that was adopted in-part by the Florida Supreme Court. As a law student, Melissa received the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (Florida Chapter) Scholarship and Outstanding Public Interest Scholarship. She was also one of a select group of students to be awarded Honors in the Trial Litigation Skills program. She received a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Emory University in 2007.
Melissa is a member of the New York State Bar Association, Family Law Section and the New York City Bar Association.
